Supervisors have a key role in many organizations. They directly impact workplace safety in a way that neither managers nor workers can. Supervisors are often promoted into their positions with little or no training in interpersonal communication or coaching. Teaching supervisors to become safety coaches can have a significant impact on accidents (organizations average above 50% reductions) as well as help supervisors to become better overall influencers of workplace behavior.
This course can be taught directly to supervisors in a half-day or full-day format and can be installed in organizations through a two day train-the-trainer course. It is an excellent next step for organizations doing Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) or safety leadership effectiveness and a great first step for organizations not yet ready for Behavior-Based Safety, or who have limited contact between leaders and workers.
